Don Mueang airport SIM card or eSIM (DMK): land online
BMTA buses, the SRT Red Line and metered taxis all leave from Don Mueang's doors. With the eSIM on, the first ride and the first map are already working.
- DMK
- BMTA buses A1 to A4
- SRT Red Line to the city
- Free shuttle to Suvarnabhumi

The short answer
A Thailand eSIM is installed at home before you fly and switched on when you land, with data roaming on for the line. At Don Mueang (DMK) the SRT Red Line connects the airport with the city, and BMTA buses A1 to A4 run to Mo Chit, Victory Monument, Lumpini Park and Sanam Luang.

Where the signal holds
- SRT Red Line
A train at the airport
The SRT Red Line suburban train connects the airport: Don Mueang station sits on the line between Krung Thep Aphiwat and Rangsit.
- 4G and 5G
Thailand's three networks
AIS keeps 5G pages for consumers, True describes a 5G and 4G network, and NT sells services on its 5G network.
- Data roaming on
Your eSIM
The eSIM runs on a Thai network and shows that network's name in your phone's settings. Turn data roaming on for the eSIM line.
Practical notes
- Getting into townBMTA buses pick up in front of the service hall and at Gate 6 of the international terminal: A1 to Mo Chit 2, every 15 minutes from 05:45 to 24:00; A2 to Victory Monument, every 15 minutes from 06:00 to 23:00; A3 to Lumpini Park and A4 to Sanam Luang, every 30 minutes from 06:00 to 23:00. A1 and A2 cost 30 baht, A3 and A4 50 baht.
- Taxis and pickupsMetered taxis wait around the clock at counters on Level 1, at Gate 8 in Terminal 1 and next to Gate 15 in Terminal 2, with a 50 baht surcharge added to the meter and expressway tolls paid by the passenger. The airport also lists Grab and its own limousine service.
- PayingThe currency is the Thai baht (THB), divided into 100 satang, and the Bank of Thailand publishes the exchange rates it uses.
- When to goThe embassy profile gives Thailand's seasons as summer from March to May, the rainy season from June to October and winter from November to February; March and April are the hottest months and December and January the coolest.
Arrival, step by step (Bangkok Don Mueang)
Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi before you fly, and keep the line switched off. After landing, turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that line only. Nothing needs collecting at a counter: the line is already in the phone, and the bus bays and the taxi rank are a few steps from the doors. If it does not connect, restart the phone once, then work through the checks in the help pages one by one.

Can I get a SIM card at Don Mueang on arrival?
A SIM card is bought in person, so it means a stop after landing. The eSIM is installed at home before the flight and switched on when you land, so nothing waits at the airport.
Is there a train from Don Mueang airport into the city?
Yes. The SRT Red Line calls at Don Mueang station on its route between Krung Thep Aphiwat and Rangsit, and a free shuttle runs to Suvarnabhumi for travellers with a connecting flight.
